The Way of Story
For millennia, stories have offered us glimpses of the Way. Some tell of immortals who dwelt among the sacred mountains. Others speak of mysterious valleys, a master cook who could read the hidden pattern of life, or travelers who discovered freedom simply by wandering.
These stories have endured not because they ask us to believe them, but because they carry the potential to awaken something that’s always been present but rarely recognized—like a scent so familiar that we simply stopped noticing it.
In Inner Seasons, we meet these stories as companions. Throughout the eight phases of our journey, each one will practice with us for a time. Some come from Taoist mythology, others from the Tao Te Ching, and others from the writings of Chuang Tzu. Together, they bring different flavors, qualities of presence, and ways of being with what is.
As we practice Qi Gong, reflect on the Tao Te Ching, and move through the rhythms of daily life, their stories begin to weave themselves into our own. May what once belonged to another time gradually become part of our own.
The invitation is simple: listen, wonder, and wander with these companions for a while. Let the stories do what stories have always done…
