Dream Circle
Our Dream Circle is a judgment-free space for us to share and explore our “nighttime stories”. It allows us to dive into our personal and collective unconscious potentially illuminating new perspectives on our waking life.
Circle Guidelines
Opening Circle ⭕
Yamin will guide us into a brief meditation to listen to the whispers of our nocturnal dreams and elusive daydreams, that are asking to be heard and seen.
First Dream Telling. “Listening to the Dreamer”
- One dreamer tells her dream using the first person and the present tense.
- The listeners feel into dream energy. They quietly notice the activity in the dream.
Second Dream Telling. “Diving into the Dream”
- Listeners take notes and ask clarifying questions to the dreamer: Who is visiting the dream? What is happening?
- Listeners inspect dream images to help them come alive. They stay within the dream as it was told by the dreamer.
- Dreamer describes dream images, symbols, animals, landscape, feelings, emotions, senses, colors, shapes.
- Neither Dreamers nor Listeners interpret the dream.
Third Dream Telling. “Becoming the Dream”
- Dreamer turns chair around or turns off computer video.
- Listeners allow the dream to become their own.
- The group projects… “In my dream” or “In my dream journey” or “In my body” I feel…
- The dreamer comes back and shares reflections.
Clopening the Circle ⭕
- Take aways from the Dream messages
- Giving Thanks to the Dreamer and the Dream.
Acknowledgments: The way I guide Dream Circles has been informed both by the practice of Dream Councils and by Katherine Donovan Kane’s dreamwork.
